Make every car seat check last
Your technicians spend real time getting each seat right. But a check is one moment, and children change fast. Within weeks the harness may need moving or the insert may need to come out. My Car Seat Friend follows up for you, sending each family timely reminders based on their seat's manufacturer manual and their child's growth. Your check keeps protecting that child for years.
What your families get
Reminders for harness height, infant insert removal, recline changes, buckle position, lower anchor limits, rear-facing and forward-facing limits, booster readiness, seat registration and expiration
Timing based on each child's growth, using WHO and CDC growth charts
Separate reminders for every seat in every vehicle, sent to the people who drive it
A family dashboard with their seat's manual, matching how-to videos and brand-specific resources
Messages that name your agency, so families remember who helped them
Easy for your technicians
Keep your own check form. Technicians do the seat check on whatever form your agency already uses. Nothing changes about how you run checks.
A quick, separate sign-up. Families are enrolled through a short My Car Seat Friend intake form, and each one is credited to your agency.
Just snap the sticker. The intake form only needs a photo of the seat's manufacturer label. My Car Seat Friend reads it and matches the exact model, so nobody has to search model lists during a busy event.
Families hear from you right away. They get a welcome message after sign-up and a "your profile is ready" message once their seat details are reviewed.
No database to maintain. Seat limits come from manufacturer manuals and are kept up to date by a certified CPST, not by your staff.
Your agency dashboard
See your program's reach anytime, without waiting for a report. Your agency's contacts and report recipients sign in with their email and see a live summary of the families your agency serves:
At a glance: families, children and active seats, plus seats expiring in the next 90 days and any already expired
Family engagement: parents active in the family dashboard this week and this month, and texts sent and replies received
Car seat modes: how many children are rear-facing, forward-facing and in boosters
12-week trend: weekly dashboard visits, texts and replies, so you can see engagement grow
Family list: a searchable list of the families your agency serves, with each family's seats and their latest dashboard visit and text
Reports that show your impact
Receive regular reports, monthly, quarterly or matched to your grant period, sent to whoever needs them: your chief, program manager, grant manager or PIO. Reports include totals only, never family names, and can show:
Families and children checked, including new and returning families
Reminders sent to your families
Text opt-in rate
Seats registered with the manufacturer
Seats expiring soon, and expired seats still in use
How many children are rear-facing, forward-facing and in boosters
Built for grant-funded programs
The numbers funders ask for, such as families reached, follow-up contacts and seats registered, are collected automatically. That makes My Car Seat Friend a good fit for NHTSA and state DOT occupant protection grants and hospital community benefit reporting. Reports can be lined up with your grant's reporting period.
How it works
Agencies pay an annual fee. Setup includes your agency's intake form, dashboard sign-ins for your staff, report schedule and recipients, and your logo for branded reports. Contact Erin Brill, CPST, to get started.
